The Flea Style empire expands to house a fast-casual restaurant at the Frisco Star - The Dallas Morning News

Brittany Cobb’s flea market empire is pioneering a new concept at their Frisco Star location: a fast-casual restaurant. Heirloom Haul serves quick bites, tea and treats, for customers browsing Flea Style’s selection of vintage homewares.

“It’s kind of a modern take on the tea service,” owner and founder Cobb says.

The simple menu offers light bites for individuals — like sandwiches, avocado toast and the “Brittany Cobb” salad — or shareable dishes like cheese and charcuterie boards. Diners can order their custom tea service from the menu or schedule a tea party event on-site.

Cobb worked with a restaurant consultant to develop the menu and then hired Ryan Woolley, a chef based in Los Angeles, to create the dishes. Restaurant employees will be trained to make the recipes for customers. There isn’t an in-house chef.

“The story at Heirloom Haul is more about the experience, and connecting with your friends or your family over really great, yummy food, than having something really chef-driven,” Cobb says.

With that in mind, Cobb designed the restaurant experience to promote local makers, like Dallas-based LulaMade Biscotti Bar. Her attention to design and detail goes so far to include vintage serving trays in place of plates to match their vintage, flea-market-find theme home.

The name “Heirloom Haul” was inspired by a 1966 Scotty camper Cobb bought in Frisco, which will serve as the restaurant’s decorative anchor. The name is a play on how she often refers to a collection of flea market finds as a “haul” of heirloom pieces.

Cobb plans to open Heirloom Haul’s second location in Deep Ellum, in a building next to their flagship Flea Style store.
