Alex has a lot of straight, fine hair. She was frustrated with her shapeless, flat and boring style and wanted a cut that would make her hair look thicker and fuller.
I shampooed her hair with Oribe Magnificent Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. I applied Oribe Featherbalm Weightless Styler to her mid-lengths and ends as an ultralight leave-in conditioner.
I sectioned her hair and began to cut the back into a diagonal-forward graduated bob. This shape offers beautiful volume and fullness through the back and side profile. I maintained the length in the front to below her chin and tidied up the fringe so that it would fall perfectly below her eyebrows.
Before styling, I sprayed Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray for thermal protection and body building fullness. I rough dried the hair with a blow dryer and a Denman brush, then switched to a small round brush to create lift at the crown. I finished her style with Oribe Superfine Hairspray.

Alex loves the look of a cat eye and red lip, and that’s exactly what we did. We lined her eyelid with black waterproof eyeliner, then tight-lined her waterline to create a sultry look. We layered a liquid liner to create a sleek and clean finish then curled and coated her eyelashes with black mascara.
We evened out her complexion with a tinted moisturizer and a little concealer under the eyes, added a hint of blush to the apples of her cheeks, and finished the look with a bold red lip.
