Rosewood Miramar Beach, Montecito Club add energy and enthusiasm as openings continue to help community recover

My favorite column every year is the one I write in January. My editor sends me the Noozhawk analytics that show me which of my columns from the previous year got the most reads.
I spend a lot of my time checking out new retail offerings, attending events and interviewing people I think would be of interest to my readers. It’s fun to guess which columns were the biggest hits, although I’ve never guessed right in seven years.
2019 was slow getting started for me after the trauma and disasters of 2017 and 2018 that linger in Montecito — and in my heart — even today. But humans are resilient, and our community has been steadily rising out of the ashes and mud.
Adding energy, enthusiasm and encouragement were the opening of the Rosewood Miramar Beach, the Montecito Club, women’s retailer Johnny Was, and several new boutiques, shops and interior design showroooms.
Happy new year to Noozhawk readers, and here’s to a healthy and prosperous 2020.
