Street Seen: my mood influences my fashion style, as does the weather - The Age

MY STYLE IS eclectic! My mood definitely influences my day-to-day style, as does the weather. I like warmer climates because again, it reminds me of my home and I feel like I can do more with my outfits in warmer temperatures. A lot of my outfits also have a nod towards my heritage. Experiences also influence my fashion – for example, my recent trip to Europe has definitely given me some inspiration.

I ADMIRE THE STYLE OF a lot of different people. A big one is the Japanese designer Issey Miyake, because he blends his heritage and culture with the influences he has had from living in America.

MY FAVOURITE PLACES TO SHOP are thrift shops, such as Savers, Vinnies and Recycle Boutique. You always find the best things in thrift shops. Plus, I am trying to avoid fast fashion.

MY BIGGEST FASHION MISTAKE WAS wearing face-off jeans in my teenage years.

WHEN I WAS A KID I WORE what my brothers would wear! I was definitely a tomboy and always wearing my brother’s oversized T-shirts and tracksuits. My mum would always dress me in pretty floral dresses to counteract this. My mum thinks my fashion style is “weird” now!

I WOULDN’T BE CAUGHT DEAD IN I try not to follow fads and will always try something that I am “feeling” or “in the mood for”. Definitely less fast fashion!
